The next day was Arizona, Nevada & then California! Here we are at a hotel in Flagstaff, AZ.
Even with a 2 week itinerary that seemed like we weren't rushing, we are finding that we overbooked ourselves a little bit. We thought that we would have evenings in the hotels, but there ended up being so many stops (many of which took way longer than expected - a 4 hour detour through Vegas comes to mind!), so we didn't make it to them before 9/10 or even one night at 1:30.
We made it to my home town last night, Daisy's 10th birthday, and went straight to see my friend Heidi, her husband and their cutie baby. That was great because we got to visit with them while the kids got to swim. They NEEDED to get some energy out! Today we met my grandparents for lunch and then went to my uncle and aunt's house for a family bar-b-que with a bunch of relatives - that was a lot of fun for everyone. We got to do a cake for both Daisy and my aunt Laurie's b-day. I love my fam and the kids didn't seem to be too overwhelmed meeting all of these new people, which was great.
Tomorrow we get to see some more of my high school girlfriends and their kiddos and then my cousin does us the biggest favor of all by taking our kids overnight! Brent and I get to hang out together while the kids get taken to Chuck E Cheese - what a win/win! Niki is a brave woman to take on the Sjolseth 4.
