Taking the Bay Area by Storm and Getting Stuck

We've been having such a fun trip! Our date night was great! The kids had a blast and so did we. After that, we left for San Francisco to visit my uncle & aunt. First, we stopped by their meat shop in the Ferry Building for a bite to eat.

A couple of my cousins were also on hand...

The next morning, we checked out Pier 39, Fisherman's Wharf & Ghirardelli Square!

My wonderful uncle & aunt are such great hosts and we stayed the night at their apartment in the city and then headed out to their house in Santa Cruz. In Santa Cruz, we checked out the beach, the boardwalk, and did some berry picking...

Everyone has loved meeting Cecil and Cecianna, and have been nothing but sweet, which has been fantastic. The kids have been having a blast together too, but I'm not going to lie, Brent and I are pretty worn out!

This morning, we headed out of town towards Southern California, passing through the artichoke capital of the world, Castroville (me & Clara LOVE artichokes!)

Unfortunately, this afternoon our trip took a bit of a turn when we stopped for a bathroom break in Paso Robles, only to hear our brakes doing some major scraping. We tried to get new pads put on but found that Saturday at 5:00 is a bad time to make this happen. We headed into San Luis Obispo to see if we had better luck, and unfortunately no one had the pads in stock. We had to cancel our hotel further south and are having to stay put for at least the night until we can get the brakes fixed. We are now trying to figure out how to get down and see Brent's brother when our dates/locations are now all thrown off. Pray for the best for us!

Can I please join your family and come on road trips with you?! I am so jealous of the giant artichoke you and Clara ate.
