OK, maybe that sounds obvious, but we're finding when you have 4 kids, it's just a non-stop energy sucker! It's not that any one child is rougher than others, but once they're together, it turns into a tornado that resembles the Tasmanian Devil! The noise level goes up, the level of destruction it leaves in it's wake is ridiculous, juggling homework and activities seems to have increased ten-fold. Wow!
The kids spent the last week grounded after 3 days in a row of taking them places, where they made far too much of a ruckus (high school football game, friends' house, then church). It ended with me posing the question "Do you want to be the family that no one wants to have over because it's so crazy??"
Luckily, after being release from being grounded last night, we went to a friend's house and they worked their butts off to change their reputation. Without being prompted, they cleaned up their messes, as well as went above and beyond to clean up their playroom area. It was great! Today, as I type, I can hear them trying to clean up the kitchen to "surprise" me. There's hope for this large clan, we just need to wrangle them in and use their energy for good!
