Weather at our house

What a week!

We started out the week by meeting all of the cousins on Jessica's side in one swoop! It was Josey's 4th birthday and there was a party in the park with friends and family.

We then spent Saturday cheering on Daisy & Clara in their final swim meet (love those Barracudas shirts!):

One thing's for sure, EVERYONE loves the water! Cecil and Ceciana began swim lessons today with Aunt Sarah. It went great and lessons will continue throughout the week.

It's been such an adjustment this week with all of the kids going quickly from the honeymoon phase to total siblings. There was way too much bickering, particularly in the car! Oh my gosh, I am going to have to figure out how we can get from point A to point B without so many arguments! It may help that tomorrow will be only in the mid-90s and the kids can move from being stir-crazy and in the house into playing outside more.

We have had to have lots of family discussions (really amongst the girls for the most part) about how we do not leave anyone out, how we share our things, how we look out for one another, how we try to put others first, etc, etc. I just hope that SOME of it is sinking in. We also have to figure out permanent sleeping arrangements because it's been a bit of musical beds. We are either going to have to get some construction done on the house to make it work or we're going to have to move! That sounds like a nightmare to pack up and move, so it will likely be construction of some sort to make it all work. The likely path is that all 3 girls will end up in the same room and we will move into the playroom, but we need to create access to the master bath and block off the old bedroom's access into that bathroom. A bit of a mess, but we'll make it work!

Next week, the three girls will head to camp and I'm thinking that will be a good distraction for all of them as we continue to transition into one happy family!

Through all of this, Brent has been an amazing dad and husband. I feel SO blessed to have him as he is a perfect mix of fun and rules, being silly while enforcing boundaries. He has had incredible patience and though he is exhausted, he is doing such a fantastic job with the kids!

What a big blessing it is to have our family grow, but with that of course comes big challenges. Continue to pray for our family!

You've got it! What a lovely family you now have. I need two new pictures to hang on the wall now that I have 8 grandchildren. Hang in there, Jessica and Brent.
