Brent and I have to keep remembering we're a couple and not just parents. We got to go out to a Room to Read benefit last week (pictured) and we have another sitter scheduled for a friend's part this Saturday - fun!
The kids had parent/teacher conferences and report cards this week and though there are some things that a lot of them need help on, we feel really great about all of their efforts, and their grades, and most importantly their attitude and behavior. We are so lucky that there haven't been any problems and the only thing we're struggling with is some academics. We're loving our tutor and have moved her up to 3 hours a week to accommodate more help with more kids. This weekend will be Cecianna's birthday and her first party that we're throwing her. We're going to Dart Bowl (love the old-school feel of that place!) with a couple of her friends and the grandparents. After Friday, the kids will officially be ages 7, 8, 9 and 10! Isn't that almost a "straight" in poker terms??

Ahh, the return of date night! BUt way to make the rest of us look like slackers, when all we do is go to a movie and out for dessert! Never heard of Room to Read, but am happy to see that one of those Microsoft people who retired at 30 is doing something wonderful with his time/resources!
That is the BEST you can give your kids...happy parents who are visiable in love and enjoy eachother's company! It is HARD to do at times, but you were a couple first! Enjoy your time together and your kids will grow from it!!!!
