Learning Lessons

Last weekend, we decided to take the kids to Austin City Limits, since we had tickets and kids 10 & Under are free. Unfortunately, it ended up being a total bust because of the rain and the fact that kids 10 & Under don't love live music enough to tough it out in the rain and mud!

We did the next night with adults only and had a lot of fun watching Eddie Vedder and Pearl Jam in their first visit to Austin since the mid-90s (despite the ridiculous mud!). My cousin Lindsey and her husband even came in from California to catch the show - so fun!

We learned our lesson, and next year, we'll make sure we have childcare arrangements the entire weekend - or just stick to a 1-day pass!

The kids have also learned some lessons this week:
  1. They have to stop complaining at their brother/sisters' activities if they want to get to do activities of their own.
  2. Don't leave bikes behind the car or mom will run over them (seriously! why couldn't they learn the lesson from Brent and I telling them 57,000 times?!)
  3. When dad works a 48 hr shift, is off for 24 hours, and then back on for 24 hours, mom gets kind of irratible! (I'm worn out! But at least it's the weekend - homework days are much rougher.)
